Many of the Blue Jays' elite scorers from 1989-92 have Patrick Walsh to thank for the help.
Walsh, a 1992 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Third Team All-American, is Elizabethtown's career assists leader with 48.
The Delaware-born forward was no slouch at putting the ball in the net himself, his 37 goals ranking tied for ninth in program history and 122 points seventh.
Walsh stepped into a crucial role as a freshman on E-town's 1989 NCAA Division III National Championship team, racking up 25 points on nine goals and seven heleprs as the Jays went 24-3 to claim their only national title.
Walsh had 38 points (11g, 16a) as a sophomore in 1990 and the Blue Jays won the first of two MAC championships during his career (1990 and 1991). Two years later, Walsh matched his sophomore totals of 11 goals and 16 assists for another 38 point campaign as a senior.
Walsh, who was known to bring the crowd to its feet every time he possessed the ball, was named to MAC Northern Division All-Star teams in 1991 and 1992. He was a First Team pick in '92, which he followed with NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team and NSCAA Division III All-America Third Team honors.
During Walsh's time as a Blue Jay, E-town went 85-10-6 and appeared in four NCAA tournaments. Walsh's 16 assists in 1990 and 1992 are tied for fourth most in a season in program history.
