Carrie Kerna Jackson is unquestionably the premier hurdler in Elizabethtown College women's track & field history. She holds every hurdling record at the school (55m and 60m indoors, 100m and 400m outdoors) and was a three-time All-American.

Kerna's hurdling prowess served her well in other events, too. The McMurray, Pa., native is also the school's indoor high jump record holder and was a 26-time All-MAC performer (indoor and outdoor combined) between hurdles events, the high jump and sprint relays.

Putting the conference on notice, Kerna won gold in the 55-meter hurdles and silver in the high jump as a rookie at the 2001 MAC Indoor Championships. She followed that up with gold in the 100-meter hurdles at the '01 Outdoor Championships and never looked back.

Of Kerna's 26 All-MAC performances, 22 of them were of the medal-winning, First Team variety. She captured 14 gold medals during her storied career, sweeping the 55m hurdles at indoors and the 100m hurdles at outdoors all four years.

Consistent throughout her Blue Jay career, Kerna peaked as a senior when she was named Outstanding Performer at the 2004 MAC Indoor Championships and went on to claim all three of her All-America finishes at the national meets. Kerna was the silver medalist in the 55m hurdles at the 2004 NCAA DIII Indoor Championships in Whitewater, Wis., and went on to take second in the 100m hurdles and sixth in the 400m hurdles at the 2004 NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships in Decatur, Ill.

Kerna qualified for her first national meet in 2002, finishing 11th in the 100m hurdles at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships.
