Melissa St. Clair '05 became the College's first female cross country runner to earn All-America honors when she finished 34th at the 2003 NCAA Division III Championship meet in Hanover, Ind. as a junior.

St. Clair, a native of Chambersburg, Pa., took home all-region finishes in 2003 and 2004. During her senior season of 2004, she ran at the NCAA Championship meet as Elizabethtown College made its first team appearance.

St. Clair was a two-time All-MAC finisher and part of the first MAC Championship-winning team in 2004.

On the track, Melissa was a four-time All-American. She claimed All-America honors for the first time at the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships, taking the bronze medal in the 5000-meter run. That outdoor season St. Clair finished as the national runner-up in the 10,000-meter run.

The 2001 Chambersburg High School grad added two more All-America performances at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships in both the 5k (8th) and 10k (7th).

Additionally, Melissa was a seven-time MAC gold medalist and 11-time all-conference recipient. Among her many accomplishments were two gold medals in the indoor 5k (2003 and 2005) and two more in the outdoor 5k (2004 and 2005). She remains the school's record holder in two events, the former indoor 1500-meter run and the outdoor 10,000-meter run, as well as on the indoor and outdoor distance medley relay teams.

St. Clair earned her degree from Elizabethtown in communications with an emphasis in public relations.
