Greg Millen will go down in history as the first Blue Jay men's golfer inducted into the Ira R. Herr Athletic Hall of Fame, but it bears questioning how good Millen really could have been given a full collegiate career.

A casualty of the program's nine-season hiatus between 1978-79 and 1986-87, Millen only got to compete at the varsity level as a senior in the spring of 1988. He certainly made up for any lost time, though, packing plenty of accomplishments into the span of a few months.

The Akron, Pennsylvania, native averaged an 18-hole score of 77.8 --still the fourth best single-season average in Elizabethtown men's golf history-- on his way to team MVP honors. Millen won the 15-team Dickinson College Invitational at the Carlisle Country Club and was runner-up at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.

Millen then earned an at-large invitation to the NCAA Division III Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he placed 25th of 120 competing golfers and won the "Longest Drive" competition.
