Mahoney, Soto, Price Win Landmark Conference Weekly Awards

TOWSON, Md. – For the second week in a row, Elizabethtown College garnered multiple athlete of the week distinctions from the Landmark Conference as graduate student Tom Mahoney of men's lacrosse, junior Brian Price of men's track & field, and sophomore Trinity Soto of women's track & field each all were recognized for their accomplishments, announced by the organization Monday afternoon.

Mahoney earns Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week. The Hillsborough, N.J. native finished the week with 22 saves, carrying the Blue Jays defense to wins over Susquehanna (13-1) and Drew (12-5). Against the River Hawks, Mahoney made 13 saves and allowed one goal, leading the Blue Jays to the second-fewest goals allowed in program history. He followed up that performance giving up only five goals and making nine saves against the Rangers. Mahoney is third in Division III in save percentage (.670) and 10th in goals-against average (6.65). He leads the Landmark in both categories as well.

Price won all three of his throwing events on Saturday at the Goucher Classic. The York Pa. native took first in the shot put, discus, and hammer. He set a PR in the shot and is now seventh all-time in Etown history in the event. Price currently ranks top 10 in all three throwing events.

Soto turned in another solid outing in the throws on Saturday at the Goucher Classic. The West Chester, Pa. native won the discus and hammer events while taking third in the shot put. Soto threw 35.91m in the disc, which was a new PR and moved her to second all-time and less than a foot away from one of Etown's longest-standing school records.

The men's lacrosse team is back in action this Wednesday, April 28 at Catholic. Opening face-off is set for 7 p.m. Both the men's and women's track & field team remain at home for the Blue Jay Tune up Meet with events beginning at 10:30 a.m.  For the Elizabethtown College Spectator Policy, please CLICK HERE, and for updated spectator policies from the other Landmark schools, please visit the conference's spectator policy landing page.
