Elizabethtown Men’s Basketball Receives Estate Gift from John Brunner '52

The Elizabethtown College men's basketball team received a generous estate gift from the late John K. Brunner '52. Brunner was a four-year member of the Blue Jays men's basketball team and then later inducted into the Ira R. Herr Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.

"We are truly honored and flattered for Mr. Brunner to think of Elizabethtown men's basketball," Elizabethtown College men's basketball coach, Britt Moore said. "It is so special to think of the impact of the Elizabethtown basketball program had on his Hall of Fame career. This gift will be used during the 2026-27 season to enhance the overall experience for the student-athletes on the men's basketball team. We thank the entire Brunner family."

An avid supporter of the Etown men's basketball team, Brunner regularly attended home games. Brunner was a teacher, coach, counselor, and athletic director for the Central Dauphin School District at Central Dauphin East High School. He served as the first basketball coach at Central Dauphin in 1955 shortly after graduating from Elizabethtown College. Brunner was also inducted into the Capital Area Chapter Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 1998.
