Anderson fourth in steeple at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Maria Anderson represented the Elizabethtown College women's track and field team on Monday at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier. Anderson came in to the meet ranked 25th in NCAA Division III in the 3,000m steeplechase and looking to improve her time and national standing.

Anderson, the Landmark Conference champion and three-time steeple medalist, ran the program's second-fastest time in the event back in late April at the Penn Relays (10:56.39).

Monday night, the senior took fourth at Swarthmore with a final time of 11:00.70. Christine Eisenberg of the Philly Runner Track Club won the women's 3k steeplechase in 10:28.12.
