PRs fall for men's cross country at Dickinson

NEWVILLE, Pa. — The Elizabethtown College men's cross country team had fresh legs going into Saturday's Dickinson Long-Short Course Invitational at Big Spring High School. The top four finishers for the Blue Jays all set new 4,000-meter personal records.

Elizabethtown prepared for next week's big meet at Geneseo with a fast course they were familiar with, being the site of the 2014 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional.

Zach Trama was once again the Jays' top runner, finishing in 12:25.87, well over a minute better than his previous 4k best of 13:46.90, set at Short Course Invite in 2012.

Sam Cooper was six places behind Trama, crossing in 12:31.75 to set a new PR of his own. As a freshman, Cooper ran the same course in 14:06.40. Taking 25th was Matt Shenk in 12:35.93, also besting his freshman year PR from the Dickinson meet.

Adam Harriger took 14 seconds off his previous 4k best from last year's Short Course race, finishing 27th in 12:38.33. Keegan McDonough was 44th and cracked the 13-minute mark at 12:59.77, giving E-town all its finisher in under 13 minutes.

The Blue Jays will travel to Leicester, N.Y. next weekend for the Geneseo Invitational.
