SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Senior Derek Kendig was the top finisher for the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team Friday night at Shippensburg's Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge. The Blue Jays finished fifth as a team with 112 points.

Kendig, a third-place performer at last week's Blue Jay Alumni Challenge, was the lone runner in the top 10 for Elizabethtown at Ship. The senior was seventh overall.

Will Inglis, last week's race winner, was the next Blue Jay to cross. He took 11th overall for Etown.

Joshua Henshaw also placed in the top 30 finishers, in 24th, while Frank Conte was 32nd. Carson Brooks was the fifth scoring member of the group, in 47th.

Elizabethtown will compete at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational on Saturday, September 12.
