ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Juniors
Derek Kendig and
Will Inglis are set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Div. III Cross Country Championships tomorrow morning for the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team.
The classmates shared similar seasons during the fall for Etown. Both had five top 10 finishes and were each all-conference and all-region performers for the Blue Jays.
They started off the 2025 season at F&M with a one-two finish; Inglis winning the F&M Invitational with Kendig taking second. A few weeks later, they were two-three at the Blue Jay Alumni Challenge, this time with Kendig finishing ahead of Inglis.
Kendig ran a new 8k personal best 24:48.5 at the Landmark Championships, where he placed fifth. Inglis also ran a personal record in that race, 25:08.7, and took seventh. Their placements earned them All-Landmark First Team honors.
After a week off to prepare for the regional meet, Kendig and Inglis worked their way up the field throughout the duration of the race at Big Spring High School. Kendig shot up to 13th while Inglis wasn't far behind in 19th.
They are the first set of teammates to compete at the national meet since Nick Garrett and Christian Schaaf in 2021. Garrett took 187th and Schaaf was 251st.
Tomorrow's men's race begins at 10 a.m. Live links can be found at etownbluejays.com.
