Women's tennis places Riehl, Chemidlin on All-Landmark teams

TOWSON, Md. -- Sophomore Lenea Riehl and junior Megan Chemidlin represented Elizabethtown College on this year's All-Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Teams, the conference office recently announced.

Riehl was a First Team Singles selection and teamed with Chemidlin as the duo garnered a Second Team Doubles nod.

Riehl, from Gap, Pennsylvania, posted an 8-8 overall singles record while holding down the top spot in the Blue Jays' lineup. She was 4-3 in conference play with a victory over 2016 Landmark Player and Rookie of the Year Lauren Lucas (Juniata) and competed in tight matches against fellow First Team selections Julia Frattaroli (Scranton) and Jenna Gietl (Catholic).

Riehl's level of competition was considerably higher this season after spending the majority of her freshman season at flights three and four.

As a doubles team, Riehl and Stewartsville, New Jersey's Chemidlin registered a team-high nine wins together. They went 7-7 at first doubles, including 5-2 within the Landmark.

Riehl and Chemidlin earned impressive wins against Juniata, Drew and Moravian's No. 1 pairs, with their only losses in conference coming to eventual champion Scranton and runner-up Catholic.

Riehl's all-conference honors are the first of her career. Chemidlin was a 2016 Second Team Singles pick.
