Top tens highlight opening meet for women's track and field at Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Saturday's Diplomat Open marked the first meet of the season for the Elizabethtown College women's track and field team. Alexa Feduchak took tenth place for the Blue Jays at the meet, while several members of the team set new personal records for E-town in the non-scored meet.

Leah Gamber hit her PR in the weight throw, one of the first events to start the first of two meets at Franklin & Marshall that Elizabethtown will attend this indoor season. Gamber threw 10.65m (34'11") in the second flight to take fifth.

In the third flight, Abby Drumheller was the second Blue Jay thrower to set a new personal best in the event. The junior's best mark was 12.16m (39'10"), which moved her from sixth to fifth all-time on the program's top ten list. She was sixth in the flight.

Feduchak competed in the top flight and finished seventh in the ten-thrower field. Overall, Feduchak was tenth at 12.69m (41'7").

Natalie Nye broke onto the top ten list in a second event. Already a top-ten pole vaulter, Nye competed in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday and ran the program's sixth-fastest time of 11.38.

Elizabethtown returns to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, January 13, 2018, for the Coach I Open. That meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
