Chemidlin, Procak hit milestones in win at Penn State Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- Junior Meghan Chemidlin earned her 40th career singles victory and senior Sam Procak went over 60 career combined wins in the Elizabethtown women's tennis team's 9-0 sweep of Penn State Harrisburg, Sunday.

E-town was nearly flawless in doubles, winning 24 games to the Lions' two in picking up all three points.

The No. 1 team of Lenea Riehl and Chemidlin secured an 8-1 win over Sydney Nye and Courtney Bennett, with teammates Procak and Kaitlyn O'Connor doing the same against Soorya Chittibabu and Sheiva Ansary at No. 3.

Elizabethtown's Amber Burd and Laura Gribble shut out Maria Torre and Abby Clifford, 8-0, at second doubles to send the Blue Jays (2-0) into singles with a commanding lead.

Procak, Sarah Donner and Laura Gribble posted donuts at third, fifth and sixth singles, respectively. Procak beat Bennett 6-0, 6-0, Donner quieted Clifford 6-0, 6-0, and Gribble blanked Ansary 6-0, 6-0.

Chemidlin inched her way towards the Blue Jays' all-time top 10 career singles winners by defeating Torre 6-3, 6-0 at second singles for her 40th career triumph. Chemidlin is off to a 4-0 start in singles this fall after winning 18 matches in each of her first two seasons.

Also winning convincingly for the Jays were No. 1 Riehl (6-1, 6-3 over Nye) and No. 4 Burd (6-1, 6-2 over Chittibabu).

Sunday's match marked the close of Elizabethtown's fall season. The Blue Jays' schedule is set to resume in March, when they'll pursue a fourth straight Landmark Conference championship.
