Women's tennis falls to Muhlenberg

Results

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Elizabethtown women's tennis dropped a 6-3 decision to regionally-ranked Muhlenberg Thursday afternoon in Allentown.

Lauren Berry and Taylor Helsel held off Sharen Resnikoff and Jamie Rosenblum, 8-6, for a point at No. 2 doubles, but the Mules (1-2) claimed No. 1 and No. 3 to take a 2-1 lead to singles.

Sophomore Madison McCall and freshman Sam Procak took the No. 3 match to a tiebreaker, but came up a few points short in a 9-8 (5) defeat.

In singles, McCall outlasted Rosenblum 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 at No. 4 and Taylor Helsel posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Molly Kowalski at No. 6.

Elizabethtown (5-2) fell to 1-2 against regionally-ranked teams this season. The Mules came in ranked 20th in the ITA Atlantic South Region. E-town defeated Roanoke, which was 17th in the region, back on March 5.

Saturday's match at Scranton was postponed Thursday, so the Blue Jays will now hit the court Sunday at Juniata.
