Sophomore Chad Lammer claimed the 133-pound title at this past Saturday's MAC Championships.
Lammer, of Ephrata, Pa., excelled in the tournament format as a freshman, recording 15 of his 16 wins in them as he won his weight class at the Messiah Invitational while finishing runner-up finish at the NCAA DIII Mideast Regional and fifth at the Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational.
Earlier this season Lammer posted a runner-up finish at the Waynesburg Invitational. Saturday, he went through the bracket's top two seeds to win his bracket.
In his opening match, Lammer pinned Patrick Davis (Delaware Valley) a minute and a half into the second period, setting up a semifinal showdown with No. 1 seed and D3wrestle.com's top 133 contender, Wilkes' Myzar Mendoza.
Lammer dominated the Colonels' senior in a 10-2 major decison and then held off No. 2 seed Connor Kirkegard of Delaware Valley, 3-1, in the final.
