Freshman Austin Blanco tied for third place in his first college tournament by shooting a 2-over par 74 at the Messiah Falcon Fall Classic on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Blanco, from Brick, N.J., worked his way around the par 72, 6,615-yard course at the Blue Ridge Country Club like he'd been there plenty of times before. He was well within striking distance of the lead, held at day's end by one of the Commonwealth Conference's most accomplished golfers in Messiah's Matt Burkhart. Behind the rookie's top five finish, E-town placed sixth of 17 schools.
