Senior Monica Loranger took second in the pole vault for the Elizabethtown College women's indoor track & field team with a new school record Saturday at the season-opening Ursinus Bow-Tie Classic.

Loranger, already the owner of the school's top mark in the pole vault at 10'4" (3.15m) cleared that by two inches at 10'6" (3.20m) Saturday to set the school's new indoor record. The mark also earned the Butler, N.J., native second in the event behind Dickinson's Rikka Olson. Loranger also competed in the high jump, where she finished in a tie for 11th at 4'7-3/4" (1.50m).
