Senior attack Emily Butler opened the 2013 women's lacrosse season by scoring 12 points over two games, highlighted by a pair of hat tricks.
Butler nearly had a double hat trick in the season-opener against Dickinson last Wednesday, scoring five times in a 13-11 win for the 19th-ranked Blue Jays. She did so on just seven shots (all on goal).
Saturday in a tough 15-14 overtime loss at McDaniel, Butler had a first-half hat trick and also assisted on four E-town goals. Again, her shooting was percise. She scored three times on four shots, giving her a 72.7 percent success rate (8 goals on 11 shots) for the week. She also had 6 draw controls (4 against Dickinson), 2 ground balls and a caused turnover.
