Senior infielder Elly McCarthy broke out of a funk at the plate with a strong 6-for-8 doubleheader at Albright last Thursday.

Last year's Commonwealth Conference Co-Player of the Year raised her batting average by 63 points after hitting .750 over two games against the Lions. She did it in un-McCarthy-like fashion, as none of her six hits (three in each game) went for extra bases.

Still, the senior was able to register three RBIs over the series, which was swept by the Blue Jays. McCarthy also stole a base and was perfect on 17 fielding opportunities.
