Junior Kaylee Werner extended her team-best hitting streak to 15 games with a 5-for-8 doubleheader at the plate against Drew Friday.
Werner's hitting streak is the longest by a Blue Jay in 10 years, going back to Emily Morris' 19-game run from March 13-April 24, 2004. Morris only went hitless twice that season batting .400 with 48 hits.
Werner, from Chambersburg, already has 41 hits and is hitting .441, fourth best amongst regulars in the Landmark Conference.
Werner opened Friday's doubleheader with two hits in game one, including a solo home run, her fourth of the year. She collected three more in game two, while driving in three runs to boost her team-leading RBI total to 26.
