Biography
2013-14 (Senior): Finished career with a 15th-place showing in the 200-yard butterfly B Final at the MAC Championships Feb. 16...Won a swim-off for the final spot in the B Final of the 200 fly at MACs after swimming a new personal record 2:14.24...Helped the 200 medley relay team finish seventh at the MAC Championships...Took 21st in the 100 fly at the MAC Championships Feb. 15...Swam the team's fastest times of the season in the 100 fly (58.00), Jan. 18, against Washington (Md.), and the 200 fly (2:14.24), Feb. 16, at the MAC Championships...Third on the team in the 200 freestyle (2:07.66) and fourth in the 100 free (56.59)...Took the butterfly leg of the Jays' top 200 medley relay (1:43.89) and 400 medley relay (3:51.06) teams, with both fast times coming at MACs...Also teamed with Andrew Malik, Ramon Rios and Frank Capria to set the program's fastest 400 free relay time (3:46.78) at Albright Nov. 23.
2012-13 (Junior): Set new personal records in the 100 and 200 free, as well as in the 1000 free...Made his debut in the 1000 free against McDaniel Jan. 12, finishing in 12:00.77...Lowered his career-best time in the 100 free by almost three seconds (54.62)...Led the Blue Jays with a time of 2:20.43 in the 200 fly and ranked second in the 100 fly with a 59.35...Swept the 100 and 200 fly at Widener Jan. 19.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Picked up two more all-conference honors as a Second Team finisher in the 200 free and 200 medley relays...Once again was the team's best in the butterfly, setting career-best times of 57.46 in the 100 and 2:18.50 in the 200...Placed 13th in both the 100 and 200 fly at the MAC Championships...Also competed in sprint freestyle events and turned in the team's third fastest 50 free time (24.23) at the MAC Championships...Multiple event winner in the Nov. 19 meet against FDU-Florham, as he won the 200 free and 200 fly...Victorious in the 100 fly against Lebanon Valley Nov. 20...Took his second win in the 200 fly in the regular season finale at King's (Pa.) Jan. 28.
2010-11 (Freshman): E-town's top guy in the butterfly, Rentschler qualified for the B Final in the 100- and 200-yard races at the MAC Championships...Finished 12th in the 200 fly at the conference championship meet...All-MAC Second Team as part of the 200 medley relay...Season-best times in the 100 fly (59.56) and 200 fly (2:20.46) were each set at the MAC Championships Feb. 11-13.
High School: Four-year varsity letterwinner on the swimming team at East Pennsboro High School...Coached by Tina Gingrich and Todd Baldwin...Three-time Mid-Penn Conference qualifier...Also qualified for the District 3 Championships as a senior...Personal best times were: 25.65 (50 free), 55.43 (100 free) and 2:04.32 (200 free)...Member of the East Pennsboro Aquatic Club and German Club.
