ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—The Elizabethtown women's volleyball team defeated York (Pa.) and Ursinus 3-1 as they opened at home Friday.
GAME 1: ELIZABETHTOWN 3, YORK 1 (20-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-15)
After getting off to a slow start, falling in the first set, 20-25 the Blue Jays soared past York to take the win. As a team Etown totaled nine blocks and nine aces enroute to the 3-1 win against the Spartans.
Lucy Stanek led the match with 16 kills (.302) and nine digs. Four players totaled ten or more digs led by
Emma Rizzuttos 21 career-high digs
Marah Glenn tallied 21 assists while
Bailey Doherty recorded a double-double of 12 assists and 10 digs.
Addy Reed led the team with four aces.
GAME 2: ELIZABETHTOWN 3, URSINUS 1 (25-18, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17)
Etown grabbed a season-high 11 aces to go with seven total blocks.
Bailey McFeaters led the match with 13 kills while Stanek added 12. Glenn tallied 25 assists while Rizzutto grabbed 20 digs. McFeaters also totaled five block assists and
Kinsey Reuwer totaled four block assists.
Etown returns home Tuesday, September 8 to face Lebanon Valley.
