HAVERFORD, Pa.—The Elizabethtown women's volleyball team fell 0-3 in a tough road contest against Haverford.
Set scores were 19-25, 27-29, 18-25.
Haverford started off with an early lead in set one. After some back-n-forth, Etown rattled off four straight to take a 13-10 lead. The Fords got back their lead after recording six in a row. Leading 19-15, Haverford's lead wasn't relinquished as they won the first set, 25-19.
Etown led 9-7 to start off set two following kills from
Kinsey Reuwer and
Lucy Stanek. Kills from
Tori Obarow and
Bailey McFeaters but Etown on top 14-12. After two back-to-back kills by Stanek the Blue Jays held a 20-16 lead. The two teams traded points until the end but Haverford came out on top in extras to win, 29-27.
The Blue Jays jumped out to a 7-3 to start the third set. Haverford brought it back and came within one of Etown. After recording two in a row, Haverford took a 14-12 lead. The Fords kept up their momentum and extended their lead to 22-17. The Fords grabbed the final three points to 25-18 to complete the 3-0 sweep.
Etown will host Marymount (Va.) and Rowan this Saturday at 11am.
