Baseball Takes Down #7/8 Shenandoah

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—The Elizabethtown baseball team did not relinquish their lead throughout the game as they defeated No.7/8 Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.

Alex McClain went 3 for 5 with two RBI, and a home run. Mason Woolwine went 2 for 2 with two runs, two RBI, and three walks. Alex Perrin went 3 for 5 with two runs, and two RBI.

Lucas Scheib earned his second win of the season striking out three while Cory Rible came in to close out the ninth inning striking out two.

Elizabethtown went up 3-0 in the third inning off McClain's and AJ Lipscomb's singles. Shenandoah got one in the fourth inning scoring on a sacrifice fly. The Hornets tied up the game 3-3 in top of the fifth before the Blue Jays tacked on six more runs.

McClain started off the fifth with a solo home run shot to right field. With the bases loaded, Perrin hit a RBI single to bring two runners across extending Etown's lead to 6-3. Woolwine knocked a double to bring in two more runs. Nick Fiorini hit a single to right field to score Woolwine. Shenandoah scored their fourth and  final run in the seventh inning via a ground out.

Etown returns home and returns to conference play as they host Moravian for a weekend series.
