ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team fell, 15-8 to Drew on Wednesday evening.
Alyssa Conner made 12 saves in goal for the Blue Jays.
Hailey Meyer recorded a hat-trick while
Megan Meyer and
Alyssa Golombeck tallied two goals each.
The Blue Jays struck first as
Abby Bach assisted M.Meyer on a woman-up opportunity. Drew evened the score before M.Meyer recorded her second goal of the game. The Rangers tacked on four goals in a row to take a 5-2 lead. With just over a minute remaining in the quarter, Golombeck added on off a free-position shot.
Drew doubled their lead to 6-3 to open the second. Just seconds later
Drew Bridges recorded her lone tally to bring Etown within two of the Rangers. Drew closed out the half with three more goals to lead 9-4 at halftime.
At 11:02 in the third the Rangers scored their 10th goal. At 8:27, Bridges fed H.Meyer for another Blue Jay goal. Drew finished out the quarter with two more goals to lead, 12-5. The Blue Jays scored three goals in row within just over a minute of each other to cut the deficit to 12-8. Drew ended the Blue Jays scoring run tacking on three more goals to win, 15-8.
Etown travels to Goucher on Saturday.
