HUNTINGDON, Pa.--- The Elizabethtown baseball team took two from Juniata winning, 14-9 and 8-6.
GAME 1: JUNIATA 9, ELIZABETHTOWN 14
Alex Perrin went 5 for 6 with three runs, and a double.
Nick Fiorini went 4 for 6 with three RBIs.
Mason Woolwine went 1 for 3 with two runs, and two RBIs.
Etown scored a run in the first inning after Juniata pitchers struggled to take control. Juniata took a 3-1 lead after the second inning before the Blue Jays came back within one in the third inning. Etown evened the score in the fourth inning after
Alex McClain hit a RBI-double.
In the fifth inning,
Parker Summers reached first via a walk and then stole second. Perrin hit a double to left field to bring home Summers. Both teams continued to trade runs as Juniata tacked on three more with their second home run of the game. A Blue Jay sacrifice fly once again cut the Eagles lead to one.
In the seventh, the Blue Jays put up four runs on three hits to take a 9-6 lead. Etown then tacked on three more runs in the eighth inning to double their lead, 12-6. Juniata hit their third home run of the game before Etown grabbed two more runs in the ninth to win, 14-9.
GAME 2: JUNIATA 6, ELIZABETHTOWN 8
David Woolley went 3 for 5 with three RBI, and a home run. Perrin and
Sawyer Martin both went 2 for 4.
Juniata took an early 3-0 lead after the first inning. The Blue Jays cut Juniata's lead to 2-3 in the third. Perrin reached base on a walk and then advanced  on a failed pickoff attempt. Perrin scored as Fiorini reached first on an error. McClain's double to right center scored Fiorini.
The Eagles added two more runs in the third to extend their lead before the Jays came back within one run in the fourth. In the fifth, Martin hit a RBI single to tie up the game at 5-5. Juniata scored their sixth and final run in the fifth inning. In the sixth after Perrin reached first on a single, Woolley knocked a two-run home run to take a 7-6 lead. Woolwine scored the Blue Jays final run on a steal to win, 8-6.Â
Etown will finish off the series at Juniata starting at 12 pm tomorrow.Â
