WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The Elizabethtown baseball team opened up Landmark Conference play at Lycoming on Saturday. The Blue Jays were able to hold off the Warriors in the ninth to earn the 7-6 win.
Jake Ruple went 3-4 with two runs.
Nick Fiorini went 2-4 with three RBIs, a run, and a home run.
Alex McClain went 1-4 with a run, a RBI, and a home run.
Lycoming went up, 2-0 in the first after a two-run homer. Etown came back within one in the third. Ruple led off the inning with a single followed by a Fiorini single. On a fielder's choice, Ruple scored. In the fourth inning, the Warriors extended their lead to 3-1.
David Woolley led off the sixth inning with a triple down the right field line. On a ground out to the shortstop, Woolley crossed home for the Jays second run.
Alex Perrin's RBI double in the seventh inning evened the score at 3-3 before Lycoming added one in the bottom half of the inning.
Lycoming tacked on two more runs in the eighth to grab a three-run lead. McClain led off the ninth with a home run to cut the Warriors lead. With two on base, Fiorini hit a three-run homer to secure Etown's 7-6 win.

Etown will finish up the series at Lycoming starting tomorrow at 12 pm.
