Bridges Reaches 100 Career Points in Double Overtime Thriller vs. Albright

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team opened the 2026 season in thrilling fashion as they need two overtime periods to defeat Albright 18-17.

Drew Bridges recorded her 100th career point as she totaled four goals which included the overtime game-winner. Ella Scholes also scored four goals while adding four assists. Megan Meyer tallied five assists and one goal. Abby Bach totaled three goals while freshman Alyssa Golombeck also totaled three goals in her debut.

Elizabethtown started off the scoring in the first coming out with a 3-0 lead, before Albright tied up the game with just three seconds remaining in the first quarter. M. Meyer setup Bach for the Blue Jays first goal of the game. Minutes later Hailey Meyer and Golombeck extended Etown's lead to 3-0.

To begin the second quarter Etown again fired off three straight goals to lead, 6-3. The Lions once again tied up the game at 6-6 before Kendall Ulmer found Scholes for the Blue Jays' seventh goal. At the 2:40 mark, Albright tied up the game, 7-7 going into halftime.

Albright outshot Etown, 13-11 in the first half while staying almost even in turnovers.

The Lions got rolling in the third quarter outscoring the Jays 5-4. In the final three minutes of the third, Golombeck and Bridges found the back of the net to trail by one at 11-12. Scholes and Bach quickly started off the scoring in the fourth quarter for Etown. At 11:57, the Lions tied up the game at 13-13 on a woman-up opportunity. The two teams went back-n-forth until the end of the quarter with Etown eventually tying up the game at 17-17 to force overtime.

In the two overtime periods Etown had outshot Albright, 2-1. The first overtime was highly contested as Albright made four turnovers while Etown totaled three. The Blue Jays didn't need much time in the second overtime as Bach found Bridges from behind the net for the game winning goal at 4:39.

Etown will host Alvernia on Saturday on Wolf Field at 3 pm.
