ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Senior
Makenna Mummert had a game-high 26 points and led the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team to a 73-39 Senior Day victory at Thompson Gymnasium over Wilkes.
Allyia Kennedy added 16 for the Blue Jays in the win.
Elizabethtown limited the Colonels to eight points in each of the first two quarters while Mummert piled up 21 first-half points, outscoring Wilkes on her own. The guard was 9-for-11 from the floor with most of her points coming at or around the basket.
No player for Wilkes had more than six points in the opening half, led by leading scorer Yamirelis Matos with six. Maliyah Warren had four by half as the Colonels were held to 7-for-30 from the field.
After a slow start from beyond the arc, Etown heated up in the second half, hitting six of their 11 attempts. Kennedy and
Cadence Anderson each hit a pair of second-half threes while Mummert and
Kiley Wilhelm also hit from distance.
Wilhelm contributed nine off the bench with
Peyton Houlihan scoring five as well.
Ella Gordon dished out a game-high seven assists and fellow senior
Ellie Fasick grabbed seven boards.
Ava Chapman recorded four steals for the Jays.
Elizabethtown will host Catholic in its final regular season home game in Thompson on Wednesday, February 18, at 7 p.m.
