ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—The Elizabethtown men's volleyball team swept Cairn for the second time this season on Thursday.
The Blue Jays held their second-best hitting percentage this season at .515. They grabbed seven blocks and nine aces.
Set scores were 25-14, 25-9, 25-15.
Etown jumped out to a 10-4 lead after going on a 7-1 run. Kills from
Mason Boyer and
Logan Smith put the Blue Jays up 16-8. The two teams traded points until the end but it wasn't enough for Cairn to come back as Etown won, 25-14.
The Blue Jays started strong and carried their momentum through the second set. After leading 15-6, Etown rattled off eight points in a row to lead, 23-7. Smith and
Arun Gopinath smacked down kills on the run.
Braydon Ambruster and Smith finished off the set with a kill apiece to win, 25-9.
Etown went up 5-0 to start off the third set and never looked back. Kills from

Hugh Rogers,
Max Sears and
Declan Keller put the Jays up 11-7. Etown then almost doubled their lead after tallying four straight. An Highlander error ended the set giving Etown the 25-15 win.
Etown travels to Lancaster Bible on Saturday for a tri-match.
