BETHLEHEM, Pa.—Moravian took the series against the Elizabethtown men's basketball team Wednesday evening as the Greyhounds won, 84-77.
Reese Ziegler recorded his first career double-double totaling 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Woody Machado also recorded 15 points while
EJ Finney totaled 12 points and six assists.
Moravian went up 5-0 early in the first half. Several Etown layups then put the team up 12-8 at 14:46. A minute later, a three from
Ben Stanton and a layup from
Austin Finarelli gave the Blue Jays an eight-point lead. Midway through half, the Blue Jays doubled their lead to 12 points. Ziegler sunk a three just under nine minutes before the Greyhounds began to slowly close the gap. At 4:04, Stanton dropped another three to bring the score to 38-31. The two teams traded the lead through the end of the half, going into halftime tied at 44-44.
Coming out of the half, layups from Machado and
Anthony Lilly gave Etown a 50-46 lead. Moravian kept it close for the next several minutes before they were able to hold on to a five-point lead midway through the half. With just under four minutes remaining, the Greyhounds led 75-68. The Blue Jays were unable to complete the comeback and fell, 84-77.
