Men’s Basketball Holds on to Defeat Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa.—The Elizabethtown men's basketball held on in the second half to defeat Susquehanna 72-68. The Blue Jays completed the series sweep.

Austin Finarelli led the team with 30 points going 13 for 21 from the field while grabbed six rebounds. EJ Finney totaled 10 points and six assists.

Etown was efficient from the field as they shot .533 in the first half to lead the River Hawks, 34-23 at halftime. The Blue Jays were quick to grab the first half lead within the first four minutes of the game.
Etown led 13-6 after a Finney layup. At the 13 minute mark, Zuri Harris sunk a three and hit a jumper to extend the Jays lead to 20-12. The Blue Jays went on to extend their lead as high as 18 points as they went into the half leading 34-23.

In the first three minutes of the second half, Etown was able to hang on to a double-digit lead before the River Hawks started gaining momentum. Minutes later Susquehanna trailed by just four points. Eight points from Augie Brody within three minutes brought the Jays up, 48-39. Finarelli made two straight layups followed by a jumper just under the half way mark. In the final four minutes Susquehanna came within just one of Etown as the team's traded buckets but Etown was able to hold on, 72-68.

Etown will travel to Moravian this coming Wednesday.
