Wilhelm paces women's basketball in win over Lycoming

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Sophomore Kiley Wilhelm led all scorers on Saturday in the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team's 72-48 win over Lycoming in Thompson Gymnasium. Wilhelm put up a career-high 16 points for the Blue Jays.

Makenna Mummert and Allyia Kennedy combined for 18 points in the first half for Elizabethtown. They held Lycoming to single digits in each of the first two quarters, only allowing four and eight points over each 10-minute period. The Blue Jays led 14-4 after one and 27-9 at halftime.

Wilhelm, who had two points on her only shot attempt, took over in the second half to lead the Jays. The sophomore was efficient from the floor, 5-for-7 for the game, including a make on her only three-point attempt. She was also perfect at the foul line, 5-for-5 while grabbing eight boards to tie Ellie Fasick for the team-high.

The Etown defense limited the Warriors' outside shooting as they hit just one three all game.

Ava Chapman dropped in a pair of treys and provided eight points off the bench. Peyton Houlihan added seven while Alex Gonzalez and Danielle Kanse both had five apiece. Mummert finished with 10 points.

Elizabethtown plays at Catholic on Wednesday, January 21, at 7 p.m.
