Men's Basketball Downs Lycoming

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—The Elizabethtown men's basketball team's lead never relinquished as four Blue Jays reached double figures in the 86-66 win over Lycoming.

Austin Finarelli led the game with 27 points going 4 for 6 from the arch while grabbing eight rebounds. Woody Machado totaled 16 points, Reese Ziegler totaled 12 points, and Anthony Lilly totaled 11 points. EJ Finney contributed eight points and seven assists.

Elizabethtown was off to a hot start in the first half leading 16-4 within the first five minutes. Midway through the half, Lycoming had started to chip away at the Blue Jays lead as they trailed by just six. A 4-0 run from Etown brought the team back ahead by double-digits. The Warriors fought back closing the gap by one with just over two minutes remaining. Seconds later Finarelli sank a three bringing the score to 34-31. Going into halftime Etown led Lycoming, 40-34.

Etown went 6 for 6 from the foul line and shot .455 from the field in the first half.

Lycoming started off the second half on a 6-0 run as they trailed, 42-40. For the rest of the half the Warriors would come just within seven of Etown. Buckets from Finney, Ziegler, and Machado extended the team's lead to 72-58 with six minutes remaining. Two Finarelli layups sandwiched one from Ziegler to put Etown up by 20 points. A 20-point lead was too much for Lycoming as the Blue Jays won, 86-66.

Etown moves to 11-4 and 4-4 in the Landmark. They will host Catholic on Jan. 21.
