WESTMINSTER, Md.—The Elizabethtown field hockey team fell, 1-0 in overtime at McDaniel in a hard fought game, Saturday evening.
The Blue Jays outshot the Terror 19-16 while also leading 14-5 in corners. Etown outshot McDaniel in three of the four quarters during regulation.
In the first Etown saw several attempts coming from
Kaylie Noel,
Sara Watson,
Hailey Meyer, and
Drew Bridges. In the second quarter, McDaniel held the majority of possession but Bridges and Watson had still managed to fire off shots.
In the third and fourth quarters Bridges and Meyer had opportunities but their attempts were turned away by McDaniel goalie, Lora Scarangello. In the final seconds of the fourth quarter
Rachel Troutman was awarded a stroke after a foul in the arch. Troutman's shot went wide forcing the overtime between the two teams.
Five minutes into the overtime period McDaniel found the back of the goal to end the team in their favor, 1-0.
The Blue Jays return home to take on Penn St.-Harrisburg on Sept. 23.
