Three Blue Jays Score in Hood Shutout

FREDERICK, Md.—The Elizabethtown field hockey stayed in the win-column Tuesday evening as they blanked Hood, 3-0.

Etown out-shot Hood 29-6 and also held the edge in corners with 12. Drew Bridges recorded a goal and tallied an assist while Mia Fino and Hailey Meyer scored their first goals of the season. Meadow Keet tallied her first assist of the season.

After a scoreless first half and holding the Blazers to just one shot the Blue Jays got going in the third quarter scoring two of their three goals. Following three straight shots from Hood, the Blue Jays gained possession in the 38th minute where Bridges scored the first goal unassisted. Minutes later Etown was awarded a corner. Seconds after the insert Keet's shot got blocked before feeding the ball to Fino for the Jays second goal.

Three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter Bridges found Meyer to help secure the Blue Jays, 3-0 win.

Elizabethtown travels back to Maryland on September 20 as they travel to McDaniel for a 6 pm start.
