CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.-- Freshman
Sara Watson, scored two goals enroute to the Elizabethtown field hockey's team first win of the season at Wilson. Watson also scored the game-winner in the 5-4 win over the Phoenix.
Drew Bridges,
Hannah Long, and
Rachel Troutman recorded the other three goals for Etown. After a scoreless first quarter, Wilson struck first three minutes into the second quarter. Shortly following a corner in the 21st minute, Bridges assisted Long to tie up the game. Minutes later the Blue Jays were on the board again after Troutman's made penalty stroke. Watson's first goal of the game followed seconds after as the Jays went into halftime with a 3-1 lead.
In the third, the Phoenix cut the Blue Jays lead to 3-2. Wilson took control at the beginning of the fourth quarter as they added two goals sandwiched by a
Lily DeBlasio save. Etown came right back as Bridges tied up the game at 4-4 with six minutes left to play. Watson helped secure the Jays win in the 57th minute with her second goal of the game.
