Drew Bridges scored the lone goal for the Blue Jays in the first quarter.
Lebanon Valley's strong defense played a factor early to start the game as they just allowed one shot from the Blue Jays in the first quarter. With six minutes remaining in the first LVC was on the board first. About four minutes later, Bridges dribbled down the center and around the Dutchmen goalie to even the score. The Dutchmen held Etown to no shots in the second quarter while taking seven of their own.
The second half was more even as the Jays gained momentum out-shooting LVC, 3-2 in the third quarter.
Hannah Long was able to get off all three shots for Etown in the third. The fourth saw Lebanon Valley take control again before scoring again in the 53
rd minute. Long and freshman,
Kaylie Noel made one last effort following penalty corners but both shots were unsuccessful.
Lily DeBlasio made seven saves in goal.
The Blue Jays will travel down to Stevenson on September 3
rd for a 5:00 pm start.
