Stevenson Shuts Out Field Hockey

OWINGS MILLS, Md.—Stevenson scored two first quarter goals enroute to a 4-0 win over the Elizabethtown field hockey team, Wednesday.

Stevenson got started early scoring their first goal 51 seconds into the first quarter. Seconds later Drew Bridges fired off the Blue Jays lone shot of the quarter but it was saved by the Mustangs goalie, Jordan Vradenburgh. Midway through the quarter the Mustangs doubled their lead, 2-0.

Etown started to gain momentum as they earned three penalty corners in the second quarter but were unable to capitalize on each.

In the 42nd minute, Stevenson recorded their third goal just before another Etown corner. Directly following the corner, Hannah Long's shot from the right was blocked. Stevenson held the Jays to zero shots in the final quarter as they tallied their fourth and final goal to seal their win.

The Blue Jays are back in action September 3 at 7 PM at home to host Franklin & Marshall.
