SELINSGROVE, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team settled for the sixth seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament as the Blue Jays fell, 14-7 to Susquehanna, Saturday.
The first quarter was all River Hawks as they jumped to a 6-0. Elizabethtown put up two early in the second quarter; both score by
Lauren Puntanen. The River Hawks fired off their next three within minutes of each other before
Megan Gress scored the Jays third goal trailing, 3-9.
Susquehanna limited Etown to just one goal in the third quarter while the River Hawks added three to lead, 12-4. In the tenth minute, Gress scored her second on a woman-up opportunity. Susquehanna struck first in the final quarter before Etown quickly responded with their fifth. Gress fed
Hailey Meyer as Elizabethtown trailed, 5-13. Susquehanna scored their final before Elizabethtown scored two more but it wasn't enough as Susquehanna won, 14-7.
The Blue Jays will travel to Juniata on Tuesday, April 29 for the first round of Landmark playoffs.
