HUNTINGDON, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team season came to an end, Tuesday evening at Juniata as they fell, 18-10 to the Eagles in the Landmark Conference First Round.
Megan Gress recorded three assists to end her career with 200 points.
Lauren Puntanen scored four goals as she led Etown.
Megan Meyer recorded a hat-trick.
Juniata got on the board first before Gress found Puntanen for the Jays first goal just seconds later. The Eagles grabbed the 2-1 lead before Etown again tied up the game, 2-2. Juniata scored the next two in the first quarter. With just under a minute remaining Gress fed
Abby Bach to bring Etown within one of Juniata. The Eagles led, 5-3 after the first quarter.
Gress found Puntanen for her third assist of the game just two minutes into the second quarter. The Eagles found the net three times in a row before Meyer scored on a free-position opportunity leaving Etown trailing, 8-5 at halftime. Puntanen was quick to get Etown started in the third via a free-position goal. Juniata rattled off the next five goals to jump to a 13-6 lead.Starting off the fourth, Puntanen found Bach for the Jays seventh goal. In the next three mintues, the Eagles racked up four more goals to lead by ten goals. Meyer and Bridges added Etown's final goal as the Blue Jays fell 18-10.
For the first time since the 2021 season Elizabethtown made the Landmark postseason. The Blue Jays end the season with a 9-8 overal record.
