ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—After several lightning delays the Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team defeated Juniata, 11-8 after scoring five goals in the first quarter.
Lauren Puntanen led the team with four goals, four ground balls, and also grabbed three draw controls.
Elizabethtown trailed 1-0 through the first three minutes before another lightning delay was called five minutes into the game. Goals from Puntanen,

Drew Bridges put the Blue Jays up 3-1 midway through the first quarter. Puntanen added her second goal of the game at 4:12 on a woman-up and free position opportunity. At the three minute mark, the Eagles cut Etown's lead 4-2. Seconds later,

Abby Bach for Elizabethtown's fifth goal.
The Blue Jays again outscored Juniata in the second quarter to take an 8-4 lead at halftime. After winning the draw to open the second quarter, Puntanen fired off her third goal of the game. Scholes and
Madison Hennelly found the back of the net within a minute of each other to extend the Jays lead, 8-2. The Eagles would cut Elizabethtown's lead scoring their fourth goal in the final minute of the quarter.
To start the third quarter, Juniata came within three goals of Etown before Puntanen responded with her final of the game. Juniata added two more goals at the 10:30 and 2:00 minute marks to trail Elizabethtown, 9-7 with one quarter to go. Bridges and
Kendall Ulmer scored the Jays 10
th and 11
th goals to help secure the 11-8 win over Juniata.
The Blue Jays move to 2-1 in the Landmark Conference and will travel to Drew this Saturday, April 6 at 1 pm.
