WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Four errors for the Elizabethtown baseball team proved costly as Wilkes hit a walk-off single in the tenth inning to defeat the Blue Jays 4-3.
Quinten Perilli went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a double.
Alex Perrin went 3 for 5 with one run and a RBI.
Sawyer Martin went 3 for 5 with a double.
Kyle Mulville started on the mound for Etown recording seven strikeouts in seven innings.
Elizabethtown got off to an early 3-0 after scoring in the third and fourth innings. In the third, Perrin singled to left field and then advanced to second. Perilli hit a RBI-double right center to score Perrin.
Mason Woolwine hit a single to right field to bring home Etown's second run. After reaching first on an error, Perrin hit a single to left center to bring
RJ Agriss across home plate. Wilkes was able to tie up the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth.
After several scoreless innings, the Blue Jays got the chance to score the game-winning run. Martin hit a double to right center before being taken out on his way home via a fielder's choice. In the bottom of the 10
th, the Colonels loaded the bases. Wilkes' Jacob Cambria hit a RBI single to score the game-winning run.
Elizabethtown returns home tomorrow to face Catholic in a conference game at 3:30 pm.
