Women's Lacrosse Downs Immaculata

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team put up another dominating performance as they defeated Immaculata, 21-6 under the lights on Wolf Field. 

Abby Bach scored a career-high eight goals while Megan Meyer also totaled a career-high of four goals. Ella Scholes recorded a hat-trick while also adding three assists. 

Immaculata scored the opening goal just less than a minute into the first quarter. From there Elizabethtown got to work outscoring the Mighty Macs, 6-2. Bach tied up the game at 1-1 with a free-position goal at 13:06. Minutes later the Blue Jays scored three straight goals within seconds of each other. M. Meyer, Jordyn Hironimus, and Scholes recorded the three. At 6:14 Immaculata scored their second goal as they trailed 4-2. Bach and M.Meyer closed out the quarter with two more goals.

The Blue Jays fired off five more goals in the second quarter to take a 11-3 lead at halftime. Madison Hennelly, Bach, and Lauren Puntanen each contributed the goals in the second quarter. Immaculata was able to put their third goal on the board with just under two minutes remaining. In the third quarter, the Jays made quick work to get a running clock as they scored five goals within three minutes of one another. M.Meyer scored Etown's 16th and 17th goals as the Blue Jays led, 17-3 at the 7:51 minute mark. Bach tacked on another for Etown before the Mighty Macs were able to scored their fourth. With 30 seconds remaining, Megan Gress scored on a free-position attempt to give the Jays the 19-4 lead after three quarters. 

Elizabethtown slowed down in the final quarter scoring two more goals. Drew Bridges scored her lone goal of the game within the first minute of the final quarter. Immaculata added their final two goals at the 10:49 and 1:21 minute marks as Elizabethtown came away with the 21-6 win. 

Elizabethtown will travel to DeSales next Wednesday, March 19 at 4 pm.
