WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—After the Elizabethtown men's basketball trailed by ten points at halftime, the Blue Jays were unable to make up the difference in the second half as they fell, 87-57 to Wilkes.
Austin Finarelli led the team with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Rance Russo totaled nine points while
Zuri Harris totaled eight points.
Wilkes got off to a strong start leading 11-1 early in the first three minutes. At the 12 minute mark, two back-to-back layups brought Elizabethtown within six points of the Colonels. Minutes later a 3-pointer from Harris brought the score to 23-20 with Wilkes still leading. Finarelli sunk a three just under the midway point of the half. In the final six minutes, Wilkes was able to pull away with a 37-27 lead at halftime.
Wilkes pull their momentum into the early portion of the second half as they pulled away for an 18-point lead. A three from
Alon Gorham in the 13
th minute brought the score to 39-54. In the final ten minutes of the game it was all Colonels as they would pull away for a 30-point win. The Colonels shot .515 from the floor while holding Etown to .328.
Elizabethtown travels to Drew Wednesday, February 19
th at 7 pm.
