ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Seniors
Reese Ziegler and
Austin Finarelli led all scorers with 17 points as the Elizabethtown men's basketball team closed out 2025 with an 88-71 win over Immaculata.
The Blue Jays go undefeated in December and move to 9-1 overall while continuing to receive votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
Ziegler posted a career-high 17 points, going 6 for 6 from the foul line. Finarelli totaled 17 points and grabbed six steals while
EJ Finney totaled 15 points and five assists.
Ben Stanton added 12 points from the bench.
Layups from Finarelli,
Woody Machado and
Anthony Lilly started off the scoring for Etown as they led, 8-4 within the first five minutes. A minute later the Mighty Macs tied it following a free-throw. Two fastbreak layups from Finarelli put the Jays back in front, 13-9. Midway through the half Etown took a seven-point lead over Immaculata. For the next several minutes Immaculata chipped away at
Etown's lead. Finarelli dropped in another fastbreak layup at the five-minute mark. Ziegler, Finney and Finarelli closed out the half helping the Jays to a 36-34 lead at halftime.
The Blue Jays quickly got things going in the second half as they went on a 10-0 run, extending their lead to 46-34. Immaculata came within four points of Etown but the Blue Jays began to pull away again. A good tip in from Stanton at 9:30 put the score at 58-46. In the final nine minutes the Mighty Macs managed to come back within nine points but it wasn't enough as Etown would pull away for a 17-point win. Through the end of the half the two teams traded free throws. The Blue Jays came out on top, 88-71.
Etown hits the road in the new year as they travel to Ursinus on Jan. 3.
