Men’s Basketball Powers Past Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Ten different Elizabethtown men's basketball players contributed in the team's 95-76 win over Ursinus, Saturday.

Austin Finarelli led the game with 26 points going 9 for 10 from the foul line as he went 7 for 7 in just the first half. Finarelli also grabbed five steals and five rebounds. Zuri Harris totaled 18 points, totaling four from the arch. Crew Wells totaled nine points while three other Jays added eight points.

Etown jumped to an early 7-0 lead after Anthony Lilly got the team started with a three. Finarelli made four of his seven free throws in the first half within the four minutes of play. Buckets from Wells, Harris and Machado put the team up, 15-11 at 14:26. At the midway point of the half Etown extended their lead by eight following a Ben Stanton three. After leading by 14 points, the Bears slowing chipped away at Etown's lead. Ursinus went on a 6-0 run to come within five points of the Blue Jays. Etown's lead was still great enough that they went into halftime with a 43-37 lead.

Ursinus started off the scoring in the second half bringing the Bears even closer to the Blue Jays. Two back-to-back three's pulled the team out to a 55-46 lead. Harris then sunk at three at the 14 minute mark to give Etown a double-digit lead. From there the Blue Jays would continue to pull away to hold their largest lead of the game with 3:30 minutes left. Finarelli made two back-to-back fastbreak layups putting the Jays lead up 27 points. Ursinus would come back within 16 points but it wasn't enough as Etown won, 95-76.

Etown moves to 10-1 on the season and will host Scranton in a doubleheader on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
