SELINSGROVE, Pa.—Susquehanna sealed the 3-2 Landmark Conference win over the Elizabethtown field hockey team with a last second goal, Saturday afternoon.
Drew Bridges and
Meadow Keet scored the Blue Jays goals while
Sara Watson added an assist.
In the first five minutes of the first quarter, Susquehanna took the lead and then went on to maintain possession through the majority of the second quarter. Following a corner in the final seconds of the quarter Bridges tied up the game 1-1 going into halftime.
After several opportunities from the River Hawks, Susquehanna retook the lead in the 41
st minute. Just minutes later, Watson found Keet to once again tie up the game at 2-2. In the fourth quarter, neither team managed to get off a shot until the final seconds of the game when a corner was called for Susquehanna. Following the corner as time ran out, the Riverhawks found the back of the net for the 3-2 win.
Emma Dupes recorded a season-high eight saves in goal.
The Blue Jays return home Wednesday, Oct. 8 to host Juniata.
