WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The Elizabethtown field hockey team earned their second Landmark Conference win of the week in thrilling fashion as they defeated Lycoming 3-2 in overtime.
Hannah Long led the team with two goals and a defensive save.
Meadow Keet recorded a goal while
Drew Bridges and
Kaylie Noel added assists.
Sydney Sinko grabbed two defensive saves as well.
The Blue Jays outshot the Warriors 29-24 while breaking even in corners with 16 each.
Etown got on the board first midway through the first quarter as Bridges found Long at the six minute mark. In the second quarter, following four corners earned by the Warriors, Lycoming tied up the game at 1-1. In the 26
th minute, the Warriors took a 2-1 lead.
The third was scoreless with Etown outshooting Lycoming 10-3. Bridges, Long,
Hailey Meyer, and
Sophie Myers accounted for the Jays shots in the third. Etown was quick to start in the fourth quarter as Keet tied up the at 2-2. Neither team could get a shot past each team's goalie forcing an overtime period.
To start overtime, Lycoming had possession tallying four corners. In the 64
th minute, Noel assisted Long for the game winning goal.
Etown will host Drew, Wednesday Oct. 22.
