ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown men's basketball dropped a tough home contest to visiting Drew who remains undefeated in the Landmark Conference. Etown fell, 77-103.
Rance Russo led the game with 20 points while grabbing five rebounds.
Austin Finarelli totaled 12 points as he went 6 for 9 from the floor.
Cam Michaels picked up a career-high nine points and three steals while
EJ Finney tallied ten rebounds and five assists.
Drew got off to a strong start leading 14-2 in the first five minutes. Etown got within seven of the Rangers following a Finarelli layup. Drew regained their momentum taking a 20-point lead (36-16) just under ten minutes remaining. Two back to Etown Blue Jays threes from
Zuri Harris and Michaels brought the score to 28-44. Layups from
Reese Ziegler, Finarelli, and Finney cut Drew's lead to 51-42 going into halftime.
After shooting .512 from the floor in the first half the Blue Jays struggled as Drew went 6 for 6 to start the second half. Good layups from Finney and Russo at the 16 minute mark left Etown trailing by 11. Midway through the half Etown had come within nine at 61-70 after a Russo layup. From there the Rangers would go on a 13-0 run to pull ahead, 83-61. With six minutes remaining Drew had extended their lead by 24 which proved too much for the Jays as Etown fell, 103-77.
Elizabethtown is back on the road this Saturday, January 25 at Lycoming.
